I can hardly believe that 2009 is coming to an end. Did it go as fast for you as it seems to have for me? I swear that I blinked and another year went by. Is this how it is when you get old?
Instead of posting a bunch of pictures this time, I thought I'd do a quick run through of the highlights of our life this year.
- We celebrated Lauren's first birthday at home with our friends and family. She loved all of the attention and the yummy chocolate cake! She has really completed our family and has turned out to be quite a fiesty little lady. During the year, she started walking and talking as well. Although we have quite a way to go in the speech department.
-We spent Spring Break in Florida at Disney World. It was Lauren's first trip there. She seemed to really like it. Hayden had been a few times before, but had a lot of fun this time too! It is one of the greatest places to vacation with children, especially if you stay at a Disney resort. We'll be back again before we know it!
-We celebrated Hayden's 5th birthday. Has he really been alive that long? We did a small celebration with just our family by going miniature golfing and eating pizza. He wants to have a real party this year. We'll see.
-Brian and Les (along their friend John and some of his family) took a motorcycle trip to Sturgis, SD over the summer.
-Hayden started elementary school. I can hardly believe that he is already half-way through Kindergarten. He is going to my school and is ther all day with Mrs. Malecki. We are so thankful for her and the firm, but caring, way she deals with him. We're still deciding about where he will go next year. I thought he would come back to Valpo, but do like having him with me. We'll see!
-We took a cruise with Les & Nicole and Chris & Shelley. Although we were disappointed with the cruiseline, Princess, we enjoyed the sunshine and time with our friends. We can't wait to go again soon!
-Brian has been very busy at work doing investigations. He took a trip to Washington D.C. with the EPA and FBI for a case he is jointly working with those agencies and the Department of Justice. He is going to be working on an IRS task force starting at the beginning of January. He also received a call from America's Most Wanted about a cold case he has been working.
I know that there are many more things that I could list, but these wer some of the big highlights. I hope to post even more exciting things for 2010. Here's to a great New Year!!!!
