You would think that as a teacher and a student for so many years now, I would learn that procrastinating is not a productive way of life. However, I obviously haven't learned that lesson yet. While I am writing this, I should be working on the final project for my EDMUL 660 (Multicultural Education) class. The last real paper that I have to write for my master's courses. That in itself should be somewhat motivating. It is a 10 page paper where I have to create action steps for my school in order to make it a more multicultural school. I have a ton of resources and could keep looking them up until the cows come home. However, I just do not have the drive to sit down and pull it all together into a paper. It could be because I do not agree with the focus and content of this course and I feel that I will be writing a paper that is not what I believe in. However, there is no option to opt out our do a different project. So, here I am procrastinating again. I do not think I have ever finished and turned in a paper/project early. It seems to be my nature to wait until the last minute and then get it done at crunch time. How stupid is that??? It causes so much stress, but then I think that I avoid stress earlier on when I'm lounging on the couch watching t.v. rather than researching and writing. Right now I also have laundry to do and I am guessing that it will soon win out over this project.
Here is another reason that I keep getting side-tracked and off-task...

I am right there with you. I'm a terrible procrastinator, and I hated the multicultural education classes I had to take at Purdue. YUCK.
The thing that works for me, and this is terrible and I'm probably a total alcoholic, but I don't care, is to get a nice bottle of wine and some chocolate, and to promise myself that I can have some AFTER I finish the project I don't want to do...
Although to be honest, some of the best papers I ever wrote were written after I had already had some wine. :)
So I am not sure if I did this right or not but I wanted to respond. First of all, who would not be distracted by that beautiful face and secondly I think your grades would show that even though you may procrastinate you turn in quality work. You have a lot going on right now so don't be so hard on yourself.
she is getting soooo big already!!!! we need to introduce her to Carter!
