We ventured to Chicago yesterday with my mom, brother (Jake), sister-in-law (Erin), and nephew (Jake Jr.). We took the South Shore train in (an hour delay and a very crowded train = stress!). Once we arrived in Chicago, we went straight to Cheesecake Factory at the base of the John Hancock Building. We had about an hour wait. In the lobby outside the restaurant, they always set up a toy train scene that Hayden enjoys as much as seeing Santa. After lunch we went to Macy's. This is the fourth time that Hayden has seen Santa at Macy's in Chicago. The Santa we saw yesterday was the same one he had his first time and now was Lauren's first Santa. As interesting looking as he is, he takes a lot of time to talk to and listen to the kids. He said "Ho, ho, ho," many times while he was talking and made the kids comfortable. Even though getting there was a bit stressful, it was a nice day!

looks like fun...glad you had a enjoyable time despite delays...glad the snow didn't stop you!
Oh my gosh, I laughed at Lauren looking at Santa like "what is up with this dude?" So cute.
How much does Jake Jr. look EXACTLY like his Daddy??! Oh my gosh! Frightening! I also can't believe he's that big already!!!!
Too cute!
Well they weren't screaming... that's the sign of a good santa.
:) Hope you guys are feeling better - sounds like you need a soak :)
