Imagine

Do you remember what it feels like to imagine vividly, dream big, and believe that everything you want to do is possible? I am reminded of that feeling each day when I watch Hayden play, in all of his four year old glory. He is so involved in his imaginary scenes that he almost loses sense of reality! Brian and I often get assigned roles and are given lines. As busy as we are, many times we cannot immerse ourselves in that world with him. We feel guilty that we don't take the time to do it often enough. But when we do, he is so thankful. I wish we could dedicate time to that every day.

Yesterday, I was again reminded of how exciting it can be to play hard and dream big. Hayden and his two neighbors, Juilana and Lily, had a lemonade stand. They were SO excited about it. Each glass that they sold was thrilling to them. They actually sold all of their lemonade and ran out of cups. My cynical mind thought that they wouldn't get people to by drinks. (I did keep that thought to myself though.) How little does my feeble adult brain know? They did great and proved me wrong!
Hayden was starting to look shaggy and in need of a haircut. I decided that I’d like him to try and grow his hair out a bit. Brian has been cutting his hair for a while now. He is good at the short cuts, but isn’t experienced enough to do the longer cuts and blending. We went to see Alyssa at Hair Cuttery today. Hayden had been going to her last year before Brian started cutting his hair. Alyssa just loved Hayden and he enjoyed seeing her too (and getting a sucker). They were both glad to see each other today again. Hayden came home with handsome hair that makes him look older. What was I thinking? I want him to be my baby forever!

We are having a garage sale this weekend and Adam is going to run a lemonade stand too! As we were setting up last night he kept yelling "Garage Sale!" to everyone that drove by!
