Easter's Blessings

As the sun is beautifully shining through our living room window, all is well at the Schnick house. Brian and Lauren are napping happily and Hayden is playing with his new SWAT policeman toy. I am blogging while waiting for breakfast. What a nice Easter morning we've had so far.

Hayden woke us up at 6:21 and wanted to get up. He usually has to wait until 7:00 before he is allowed to be out of his room. He said to me, "You know that button on my clock that makes the numbers change? I pushed it and made my clock say 7, so let's get up!" Needless to say, the whole family was up at 6:30. The Easter Bunny had already hidden all of the eggs and the baskets were filled. Hayden loved his basket, although after all was over he said, "The Easter Bunny didn't bring me very much." We discussed the real meaning of Easter last night and again this morning. If you ask Hayden, he'll say it's "Jesus dies on the cross. He rose up again. I'm not telling the whole story." Lauren enjoyed getting her basket and went right for the treats! She loves her food. Once Brian & Lauren went back to bed, Hayden and I made breakfast. I told him it was going to be something special. I found a recipe for Resurrection Rolls. Hayden helped me make them and we discussed what they stood for as we cooked. They smelled good while they cooked! They tasted really good too. We went to the 11:00 Easter Service at church this morning. We usually go to the 9:30, but wanted to let Lauren nap because she got up early. I put a chicken in the oven to roast while we are gone. We'll be having roasted chicken, bread & celery dressing, mashed potatoes, and corn for dinner.
I hope that each of you enjoy the Lord's blessings on this special day. I will be enjoying the day with my family and will be thankful for them!

Coloring easter eggs was an adventure.
Hayden took this picture for us.
