Life is Good!

Since I last wrote, our lives have changed so much! I no longer get to sleep for more than three hours in a row. Brian has been helping pick up the slack. Hayden has become a loving brother and enjoys looking at and kissing his little sister. Lauren is such a good baby. She is still sleeping a lot at this point. She is content most of the time and just likes to be comfy. We have discovered that she likes to be clothed at all times and swaddled as much as possible. She doesn't appreciate diaper changes and baths. Her belly button fell off today, so we'll see if she likes the bath once she can be submerged in warm water. We also recently introduced her to the pacifier. She is a big fan!

We have managed to keep life somewhat normal since her arrival. We have been shopping a few times, gone out to eat, and Brian and I even went to a wine tasting party at Jen & Brian's on Saturday. It's amazing how much more relaxed we are as second time parents.

Some possibly exciting news for us here is that my mom is interviewing for a job at Opportunity Enterprises here in Valpo. It is a nonprofit organization working with special needs adults at numerous sites, including the main Valparaiso campus, group homes throughout Porter County, and a JobSource office in Merrillville. They offer many services to these challenged individuals. Mom is interviewing for the Human Resources Director. She is coming tomorrow for a second interview with the CFO and Board of Directors. It sounds like they are very interested in her. It would require her to relocate to Valpo. She is trying to figure out how she could work this out financially and hopefully keep one of her lake lots in order to go to the lake on the weekends. Right now she just needs prayers to help guide her in the best direction. I'll keep you posted!

I'm not sure you get any credit with those kids of yours....I see a lot of Brian in them both!! She looks so cozy with her little pacifier!

We'll keep your Mom in our prayers!!!!!

Talk to you soon!
