Yesterday we had a pretty eventful day. It was a beautiful snowy day here in Valpo. Brian ventured out to get his hairs cut and the kids and I went to the grocery. I got my day 3 run in for week 1 of the C25K (in my modified 8 day week). I screwed up a bit while I was running because I was watching Oprah. I missed the podcast guy telling me that it was time to walk and instead of running only 60 seconds on the second run, I ran 3 1/2 minutes. Ugh! This was not in my plan, but I trudged on. I made that mistake one more time at the end and ran 90 seconds and only walked 30 seconds. Oh well, I made it. I was on the treadmill for 30 min. and went 2 miles. I ran/walked at an average speed of 4.1 and average time of 14.35 min. I forgot to put it on an incline though. I hope to get day 1 of week 2 in today. Although I am a bit nervous because Jen said it is definitely a bit more of a challenge. I'll let you know.
We also went out with Brian's co-workers for their holiday party. Brian's sister Sheila came over and stayed with the kids. She brought a bunch of Christmas gifts for them and it was smooth sailing for us to leave (not a tear shed from either kid). We went to Galveston's Steak House in Michigan City for dinner. The appitizers were compliments of the owner. So of course, we were stuffed before we ever ordered. None the less, Brian had a 1.5 lb. Texas T-bone and I had a big cut of prime rib. Brian managed to down the entire steak and I ate half of mine. It was good and we were stuffed. Then w
e ventured to the Blue Chip Casino just down the road from the restraunt. This is where Brian worked as a gaming enforcement agent (assigned by the State Police)for about 2 years. As soon as we walked in the door, he saw people he knew. The casino is adding a huge hotel and so Brian and some other guys got a tour of it. The rest of us waited in the bar where I had a very potent chocolate martini. I was already feeling it's affects when Brian came back. The whole group (about 6 or 7 couples) made our way in on to the boat. The guys spent time watching people on the tables and Nicole and I found some quarter slots. I whipped through $20 very quickly. It took Nicole a little longer and she ended up getting her $20 back plus $1.25. We decided to see what the guys were doing, so she cashed out. We caught up with the boys, who were still watching table games. Brian decided that he wanted to do some slots and took off. Nicole and I weren't sure where he went and had to track him down. After we found him, we saw a few video quarter slot machines that looked cool, although we had no idea how to really play them. We did it any way. I played one called Life of Luxury III a few times with no luck. Then all of the sudden my machine seemed to be possesed. It said that I got a bonus and started to show credits going up and up and up. I couldn't control the machine while it did this. I kept looking at Nicole telling her that I had no idea what was going on. I tried pushing buttons because I thought it went into some demo. mode or something. Finally it stopped and my credits now showed 2499! Nicole looked at each other. We were shocked and confused. She said, "Cash out!" It was $
624.00! We found Brian right away and I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants! Brian took my ticket and went to gloat. Nicole and I went back to the machines and she sat down at her's (Winning Bid Classic) again. After the second try, she got a roll that landed on an auction. She had to choose an item to auction (she chose a fish) and someone to start the auction. Then the people on the screen started to bid on her fish. The final bid amount was multiplied by how many she was playing per line. She had 2 bet per line. I think it finally stopped at 280. This ended up at around $140. We were so excited. By the time we found the boys, Brian had already cashed in my ticket and gave me my part of the cash. We had a really nice evening with our friends. It was nice to spend time with the adults for the evening and the kids had a lot of fun with Aunt She-She while we were gone.

Wait a second....Brian cashed in YOUR ticket and gave you SOME of the cash!? What is wrong with that sentence?!?! :) Glad you had so much fun!
Your C25K plan is different than mine was. Same result, I'm sure. Either way, YAY YOU!!!!!
